What else do they want (the North)?

In an apparent disgust at Ali's insatiable and greedy ambition to
become the PDP BoT and David Mark's equal futility to remain to only
super-power in the north central, Dijimighty pinged the below tweet to
me and I have decided to share it here:

Vice President North,
Senate President North,
Speaker House of Reps North,
PDP National Chairman North,
PDP BOT Acting Chairman North,
Head of Service North,
INEC Chairman North,
Inspector General of Police North,
Central Bank Governor (CBN) North,
Chief Jusice of the Federation North, President Court Of Appeal North,
President of the Federal High Court North,
NSA North.

But Isaac Amede has a contrary opinion:

@Ernest,not minding the occupy-it-all mentality of the Northerners,if
Nigeria was well-governed,one would care less of the ethnic base of
these political holders and appointees.

France Considers a Gay Marriage Bill as Marriage Itself Is in Decline

French President François Hollande campaigned on a pledge to legalize
gay marriage, though it drew little attention at the time, and he now
has the votes in parliament to do it.
Supporters of gay marriage in France say legalizing gay marriage would
simply give homosexual couples and their children the same rights and
protections afforded heterosexual married couples. Opponents say
society should not be in the habit of endorsing practices or habits
simply because it cannot prevent them. What do you think?

Biden, Meeting Gun Control Advocates, Vows Action

Culled from NYT
WASHINGTON - Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. on Wednesday vowed
swift steps by the federal government to confront gun violence as he
met at the White House with representatives of about a dozen gun
control organizations.
"The president and I are determined to take action. This is not an
exercise in photo opportunities," Mr. Biden said as photographers were
given a chance to take pictures before the closed-door meeting.
During the two-hour meeting, participants said, Mr. Biden and Attorney
General Eric H. Holder Jr. told the group that President Obama was
planning a comprehensive effort to pass legislation and use executive
orders to prevent gun violence.
"Clearly they are not talking about just having a conversation with
the American people," said John Feinblatt, who attended the meeting on
behalf of Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, an outspoken advocate for
greater gun control measures.
Mr. Feinblatt, a top aide to Mr. Bloomberg, said Mr. Biden promised
both a "legislative plan that could be achieved and a plan for
executive actions."
"Both those things are going to be pursued," he said.
The meeting was part of Mr. Biden's effort to develop proposals for
Mr. Obama and Congress in the wake of the mass shooting in Newtown,
Conn., last month. A panel led by Mr. Biden is scheduled to offer
recommendations this month.
Offering a glimpse of the approach that he might take, Mr. Biden
hinted that his group was not likely to recommend an all-or-nothing
approach to the issue of gun violence.
"We are not going to get caught up in the notion unless we can do
everything, we're not going to do anything," Mr. Biden said.
Among those at the White House were representatives of the Brady
Campaign to End Gun Violence, Mayors Against Illegal Guns, States
United to Prevent Gun Violence and several state gun control
organizations.
"I want to hear about your experiences," Mr. Biden, sitting next to
Mr. Holder, said to the group. "I'm convinced that we can affect the
well-being of millions of Americans and take thousands of people out
of harm's way if we act responsibly."
Mr. Feinblatt said the consensus at the meeting was to seek broad
changes to law that would include an assault weapons ban, limits on
high-capacity magazines for ammunition, better enforcement measures, a
gun-trafficking statute and improved data for background checks.
He said the advocates also pushed for executive actions that would not
require Congressional approval, including new efforts by the Justice
Department to prosecute people who lie on their background checks.
Mr. Feinblatt said that some of the people in the meeting told
personal stories of grief that reminded the others around the table
that "this is not some abstract exercise."
Mr. Biden made it clear that doing nothing about gun violence was not
an option under consideration. But he also said that his group would
meet with gun owners and gun rights groups - including the National
Rifle Association - that oppose significant new gun restrictions.
"I've also invited the gun owners and the N.R.A. to come and make
their case as well," Mr. Biden said. "We are reaching out to all
parties on whatever side of this debate that you fall."
He added: "But the president is going to act. There is executive
action that can be taken. We haven't decided what that is yet."
In addition to the N.R.A., representatives from Walmart, whose stores
are the largest seller of guns in the country, will also attend a
meeting with the vice president on Thursday.
A spokesman for the company initially told The Wall Street Journal
that Walmart would not be sending anyone to the meeting. But David
Tovar, the vice president for corporate communications, reversed
himself Wednesday morning.
"We underestimated the expectation to attend the meeting on Thursday
in person, so we are sending an appropriate representative to
participate," Mr. Tovar said in a statement. "We take this issue very
seriously and are committed to staying engaged in this discussion as
the administration and Congress work toward a consensus on the right
path forward."

According to TMZ, the couple dropped $11 million on a mansion located
in Bel Air, California. The 10,000-square-foot home is situated in a
private gated community, and they purchased it several weeks ago.

Now, they're renovating the abode and expanding it to become a custom

Kim Kardashian, Kanye West Get Cozy While House Hunting

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have been anything but shy when it comes
to their very public courtship. Kardashian recently told Tatler, "I
can't even think about being with anyone else than the man I'm with,"
and has even been joking about what their offspring might look like.
Kanye, for his part, reciprocated by making the ultimate gesture of
affection: He follows only Kim on Twitter.
And Monday, the couple went house hunting together in Miami, where
Kardashian is filming "Kourtney & Kim Take Miami."
West kept it casual in Nike shorts and a tee, and Kardashian opted for
the kind of practical ensemble we would sport when scouting a new
home: a silk shirt, leather miniskirt and sky-high cutout heels. She
accessorized with the Louis Vuitton "goodies" Kanye brought back from
Paris Fashion Week, a small clutch and cuff bracelet.
"Miami fun day with @kanyewest," Kardashian tweeted Monday afternoon.
And it looks as if they had a lot of fun indeed:

Nobody ever believed the small statured man would ever win it in 2009,
2010, 2011 and now in 2012. The only player in history to win it four
times. He is just a living legend, a god! Though a lot of people think
Christiano Ronaldo should have won, but the truth is that C R could
only have won it if Messi was not in his generation

Sexiest Man Alive

The annual feature the "Sexiest Man Alive" is billed as a benchmark of male attractiveness and typically includes only famous people and celebrities. It is determined in a similar procedure to Time's Person of the Year. The origin of the title was a discussion on a planned story on Mel Gibson. A female editor exclaimed, "Oh my God, he is the sexiest man alive!" And someone else said, "You should use that as a cover line."
For the first decade or so, the feature appeared at uneven intervals. Originally awarded in the wintertime, it shifted around the calendar, resulting in gaps as short as seven months and as long as a year and a half (with no selection at all during 1994). Since 1997, the dates have settled between mid-November and early December.
Dates of magazine issues, winners, ages of winners at the time of selection, and pertinent comments are listed below.

LADIES! NEVER EVER COMPARE ANYONE ELSE'S MARRIAGE TO YOURS

I know this gist is stale but the lessons to learn still remain universally timeless so i decided to share it again and  am sure it will really help you guys. Enjoy!!!
“Biyi hasn’t worked for that long?” Dayo’s voice drips with resentment. “For real?” “He’s been trying,” I say in feeble attempt to defend my husband. “You know how the economy is.”

…My husband and I had vowed never to bring in a third party into our relationship but with a bank account screaming for revival, I need to share my burden with someone else. I grip the phone. Dayo is unusually quiet. “You still there?” I ask. “Hello?” “I am here,” she says. “I just didn’t know things were this bad. And all this while, I thought Biyi was providing for the home.” But he is, I argue silently. Well, maybe not financially for now, but in every way else, Biyi is a rock. “It’s not that bad.” My words sound frail. Dayo clucks her tongue. “You might as well be a widow.”
The words hit me like a fist. “Na you I blame,” she continues, oblivious to the damage her words have caused.

Indian police charge five men with murder in New Delhi gang rape

Five men accused of raping a university student for hours on a bus as it drove through India's capital were charged Thursday with murder, rape and other crimes that could bring them the death penalty.

The attack on the 23-year-old woman, who died of severe internal injuries over the weekend, provoked a debate across India about the routine mistreatment of females and triggered daily protests demanding action.

There have been signs of change since the attack. Rapes, often ignored, have become front-page news, politicians have called for tougher laws, including the death penalty and chemical castration for rapists, and the government is examining wide-scale reforms in the criminal justice system's handling of sexual assaults. Activists say the tragedy could mark a turning point for women's rights.

In a nation where court cases often linger for years, the government set up a special fast-track court Wednesday to deal with crimes against women, and that is where the charges against the five men were filed Thursday evening. The government said it planned to open four more such courts in the city.

Roberto Mancini and Mario Balotelli pulled apart in training fiasco

Mario Balotelli and Roberto Mancini had to be pulled apart after an angry training ground bust-up between the pair on Thursday raised yet more questions over the striker's long-term future at Manchester City.
A Balotelli challenge on Scott Sinclair towards the end of Thursday morning's session was too severe for Mancini's liking, with the manager subsequently involved in a grappling match with his Italian compatriot. The entire fracas was captured by a photographer, with the duo separated by members of the City coaching staff before Balotelli returned to the dressing room. He departed the training ground only 10 minutes later.
One City insider has described the spat as a "storm in a teacup" and said "it was forgotten about instantly" but the club still acknowledge the significance of the high-profile and now widespread images. Mancini was pictured still wagging his finger as he entered the office building – it is the latest in a long line of incidents that have tested City's patience with the player since he signed in 2010.

A photographer was killed trying to take photos of Justin Bieber's $200,000 car

Photo of Chris Guerra who was killed when he was struck by a car trying to photograph Justin Bieber's Ferrari in Los Angeles, Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. Pacific time.

A Los Angeles paparazzo who thought he spied Justin Bieber smoking weed was struck and killed by a car as he rushed to photograph the pop star’s Ferrari after it had been pulled over by cops.
The teen pop sensation was not even behind the wheel — the relentless shutterbug died chasing a bad lead that later reignited a debate about paparazzi culture in the celeb-mad City of Angels.
The fatal sequence of events began Tuesday at the Four Seasons hotel, where freelance photographer Chris Guerra, who had been dogging Bieber’s clique all day, thought he saw the singer smoking marijuana and staked out the building.

“If it takes me all night, I’m staying out here, I’m getting this story,” the 29-year-old told a friend, according to TMZ. “He was smoking weed. I hope something comes of this.”

The photographer, who had only moved to L.A. in March, likely thought he was on a huge story, another friend told the Daily News.
